Is there noticable difference with Sata 2 and Sata 3 ports when using a sata 3 SSD?

Like say I have a SSD that supports SATA 3 a plextor.

And I buy a mainboard that only has SATA 2.

Is there going to be noticeable difference in loading of software and booting up windows 7?

Yeah there is.

However, that usually true to a genuine onboard SATA 3 ports.

In many cases adding a PCIx2 card with SATA 3 ports is not that useful.

Unless you're doing something requiring sustained read/writes (booting up windows 7 isn't), you will see no difference until and if the bus is saturated which doesn't happen very often.

I've had the same SAmsung EVO 840 on SATA 2 with a 3.8Ghz i5-750 and have now switched the same SSD to a i7-5820K @ 4.4Ghz with SATA 3, and to me it only seems like there's a few seconds difference in boot time.
