is there no hope for my video card? :(

Is there any 3rd party vendors capable of fixing video cards? I have an evga 6800NU that unfortunately seems to have crapped out on me. It still gives me a picture, but text is extremely garbled & unreadable, and graphics have lines in them. It all started when I moved my system to a new case, and without thinking I turned on the case without connecting the power to my video card. The motherboard beeped VERY loudly, & when I connected the power again, my card seemed to have crapped.
Just a note, I installed an NV silencer 5 and can't find my original box anyway, so RMA'ing is out of the question :(.
Is there ANYTHING I can do with this card, short of tossing it in the trash? I paid $300 for the damn thing so it'd be difficult to just give up on it.

Umm... I don't think just turning the computer on without the video card power connected would cause it to fail.

Coincidentally I too have an EVGA 6800 (Not an NU but a GT) and mine did a similar thing after I installed a new chipset HSF which required me to take the mobo completely out the case. When I put everything back together the vid card no longer worked. No video. Nothing.

I just RMA'd mine. Perhaps the EVGAs are especially prone to static? Although, I was wearing a grounding strap the whole time.

I would still try to RMA it, just take the NV Silencer off it and put the original HSF back on.

I booted my box with the power adaptor off my x800 numerous times when I was building it for the first time. This was the first card that I had to use the secondary supply.
