Is there no easy way to post shortcut links in threads anymore?

OK, am I missing how to easily post links in posts now? I'm just copying & pasting whole links at this point because I don't see any shortcut buttons to do that, bold, italic, or underline fonts either. Are those functions all gone?

choose: Standard editor

That gives you back the buttons for bold, underline, urls, etc.

I wasn't aware it needed some explaining as all these features and very obvious. You can't possibly miss them...
 
I can't change stuff in the user control panel - everytime I try it times out when applying the new settings.

Is there anyone else having these issues?
