I currently have a asus p5k deluxe wifi p35 board, i'm running a e8500 in it. I have no desire to get a new processor as it wouldn't be much of an upgrade. But would upgrading to the current generation of motherboards and DDR3 really have any impact in performance? I think my motherboard is pushing 2 years old now so i'm wondering if it's time.

If you are planning on staying with s775, then definitely no, the e8500 is a great chip. If you are going to go through the trouble of a motherboard upgrade, then you might as well move up to i7.

No, unless you want to use crossfire..the the P35 does lag behind a bit.

DDR3 on a 775 platfrom doesn't do great deal for performance over DDR2.
