Is there going to be a quiet and more efficient fan for 8800gt soon? I would like something that doesn't sound like a jet.

Most GPU coolers that will fit a 7900GT will fit a 8800GT. The hole spacing is exactly the same.

I keep reading that and would love to see some more confirmation since i'd like to get a dual slot cooler for my 8800GT that exhaust the heat out of my case.

So far all ive seen thats been confirmed to work is the Thermaltake ND1 and it doesnt fit perfect, the stock fan connector on the card gets in the way and needs to be bent for the cooler to be installed.

I'd rather not do that to a perfectly good video card.

Nope, but I'm pretty sure that the solution is called "Accelero".

The one i see suggested the most is the ARCTIC COOLING Accelero S1 VGA Cooler combined with the ARCTIC COOLING Turbo Module Sleeve Dual VGA Fan.

Which looks like a great low cost solution for a pc running a single 8800GT.

For SLI , it doesnt leave much room though.

I'd likely get a Thermalright HR-03 GT if I weren't watercooling my rig right now. You can add a 92mm fan of your choice to it and you just get the fan noise you choose. I'd match it up with a Panaflo M1A, or L1B, or and YateLoon.

The Zalman VF1000 LED would also be a good choice for cooling.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can see here that a standard Swiftech MCW60 fits a 8800GT. The same water block fit my 7900GT with no mods at all.
