Is there burn-in on LCD monitors?

I thought LCD monitors didn't suffer from burn-in. But my 17" Dell has some burn-in on the top right corner.

I see the 3 internet explorer buttons (minimize, maximize, close) faintly when I go to the desktop.

The pixels seem to work in my games, but just concerned. The monitor is a few years old, but still.

Is it a myth?

Yeah, contrary to popular belief, there is burn in on lcds. I have seen it first hand. I believe there are actually 2 different forms of burning on lcds. One is due to residual static charge in the electronics. This is temporary. The other is burn in due to exposure from UV generated by the backlight that isn't filtered by some UV blocking plastic because the monitor manufacturer was too cheap to include it.
