is there anywhere to buy just one book of an encyclopedia?

You could probably buy the entire set of encyclopedias for $20 at a yard sale if you could find one.

A large library may have old encyclopedias if all you need to do is copy something.

On a side note, old encyclopedias are a trip. A lot of the countries they document don't even exist any more. I still have an entire set of Britannica my folks bought in 1956. I should dig it out and look up "computers".

I wonder if there is someplace online where you could find it. Maybe try contacting the publisher?

hmmm yea, i guess garage sales are probably my best bet. i was hoping there was a site that specialized in this :p i bet there's other people that just need one book to complete a set...

i'll try to contact the publisher, but i think they went out of business or something because i couldn't find anything about them on google :(

I believe Grolier publishes/published it.

You may even try calling some used book stores. If they don't have it they may be able to give you info on where to look. Oftentimes they know people who want to sell books, etc. but they don't have them in the store. Going in in person would probably get you more info than calling, though. Despite the fact that there are far too many jackasses in the world, I have found most people to be very helpful when approached properly.
