IS there anywhere in windowss XP where you can tell if the mobo is usb 2.0?

if you plug a usb 2.0 thumb drive into it , and the port is 1.1 , you should get a message about using a high speed device on a low speed port or something like that

Yea, every XP machine comes with this neat little program called "Internet Explorer", you use that to go to places called "websites". In your case, you'd go to the "website" of the manufacturer of your mobo and look up the specs for your board.

great! so i can cancel this pesky comcast cable modem i have! since xp has "INTERNET explorer" that lets me go to "websites"!
