Is there anyway to upgrade my IBM Video Card from 64 to 128MB?

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my 64MB to 128MB.

I do a search but found nothing about 128MB video cards for IBM laptop.

Mine is A31p.

Is it possible to upgrade to 128MB?

Reason to upgrade is I can't play one game with this card. It needs 128MB.

I might be wrong, but isnt the card soldered on?

I'm fairly certain that the graphics chipset and it's memory is soldered in to your motherboard. In most laptops this is the case. Some manufactures occasionally have their grapics chips on seperate boards (Dell has done this in some cases)... aparently with the newer laptops this is the way we're going... which is good... but currently... most are soldered in and you can't upgrade...

I think that you are doomed, unfortunately. Page 50 of ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/...obiles_pdf/92p1902.pdf ,the IBM service guide for your system, uses the phrase "on system board" to describe the graphics card. I also see no mention of graphics modules in any of the FRU lists. Sorry about the bad news.
