Is there anyway to turn my digital pictures into real photos?

i just got back from a trip to denmark where i took about 200 pictures with my digital camera. is there anyway to have thees pictures tranferred to real photos?

i've never tried using this particular service, but i know it has been around for a while and there are others like it. www.ofoto.com prints your digital photos into "high quality prints" which i'm assuming are like standard 4x6 prints from 35mm film.

edit: ouch, 50 cents a pop. 200 photos would run $100. maybe you should invest in a photo printer?

what resolution did you use as it may affect the quality of the photos!

i used 1280x960 and 1712 x 1368

as long as you don't plan on enlarging them too much, those resolutions should be more than ok for 4x6 prints. dye sublimation photo printers range from $300 to $35k+. inkjet photo printers are also pretty nice nowadays, and are cheaper. check out www.bhphotovideo.com for some ideas. (they might not have the best prices, so shop around a little bit.)

i have an HP 952C inkjet photo printer...it works GREAT! 😀
i think the price is under $300 now. and the HP 4x6 photo paper is pretty cheap too.
this is definitely a great way to go.

look at the sony ones, they have glossy paper and are full bleed. i've read several reviews and all say that nobody could tell the difference.

...and all this time I thought digital camera was invented just so you DONT HAVE TO hassle with those "paperphotos" anymore... 🙂

It's like.. in the past people were asking how to get paperphotos onto computer (and thus scanner was invented), now when a simple solution was invented (digital camera) people are asking how to get digital photos from computer onto paper... what's the deal with this, really 😀

What's a "real photo?"

Been doing serious digital photography now for 5 years . . . on my 4th camera. Will never go back to film or prints.

I recently returned from a 2 week trip to Europe with 823 "photos." I share them with others who were on the trip by burning them on to CDRs with run-time slide shows complete with effects transitions and music backgrounds.

The display at 1600 x 1200 on a large screen is spectacular. In the last 5 years I have only had 3 requests for a couple of prints.

I really don't understand the retro need for prints of photos.

About the only "transfer" you can do is to print them out. If you then want negatives created, that requires special copy equipment and you end up with film . . . which is very expensive. If you want film, then use film in the first place. 🙂

But . . . think about sharing them on CDs. It costs 52 cents first class to mail a CD full of 823 pictures to a friend. Imagine what it would cost to mail 823 prints by first class.
