Is there anyway to make my rear speakers louder?

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to make the rear left speaker louder than my front speakers. My left speaker is about 2m away to the left of me, due to the wall that its on being further away. Is there anyway to make it, or both rear speakers louder?

I have:-
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Audigy1 w/ latest drivers
Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 5300 Speakers.

Thanks in advance.

Go into the control panel and then into the sound properties. You should be able to adjust the balance of the sound from your rear/front speakers.

I have a front/rear balance control on my speakers volume control, wont that just divert more of the sound to the rear, rarther than making it louder?

By balancing your Speakers you will enhance the Rear sound imagine and it will seem louder, as far as actually making your Speakers louder, if the Amp is cranked up the way then their is no way short of dropping the Ohms which would void the warrantty and prolly burn out the set-up...you could also ceiling mount your rears closer to you

Ive found a setting in my sound cards control panel, called balance/fade. It brings up a grid with four directions on it, and a yellow dot, i moved the dot downwards a bit, towards the line labled rear, and the rear speakers have gotton a tad louder. Thanks guys.
