Is there anyway to make external display to internal display ?

Hi, Sorry if i m posting this thread in wrong section.

I m using windows 7 64bit and have ati 6950 graphic card. I was using my monitor with hdmi connection. Now i want to add another display over receiver with hdmi and use my monitor over DVI.
Now windows recognizes monitor as EXTERNAL display (because it is not with hdmi connected anymore) and my tv over receiver as internal display. I tried to change it but couldn´t succeed. Is there any way to change External display to internal ? Or is there any difference if i use it like that ?
