Is there anyway to improve cell phone reception?

I just got a new phone from Verizon a week ago. Its a nice picturephone and it was free with a 2 year deal. The problem is that my reception sucks. My roommates have US cellular, sprint and cingular and none of them have any problems. 4 blocks away from my house I get 5 bars of signal strength.

When I stand outside my house however, I only get 1 bar of signal strength.

I really like my phone and verizons coverage, just not in my house and room 🙁 Anyway that I can improve it at all?
 
Probably not. There may be spots in your house that get better recpetion than others. Go around your house and try to find them. In my appartment I have to either be on my bed by the window, or in the living room in this one spot. I also have versizon, same problem as you. Great reception everywhere but my place.
 
Look for one of those signal boosters. They're only $20. 😛


J/k...if you phone has an antenna jack you can buy an external antenna. They run about $40-100.

US Cellular carries the camera phone, but they dont offer picture messaging... WTF?

Then their unlimited night and weekend minutes are only good in their home areas.... which means either I take a plan that I currently get no reception in, or I take a plan where I wont get enough minutes when I'm traveling 🙁



Man I'm really screwed here..... I might as well just keep my old school nokia 🙁
