until they start sending cable signals on something other than cable, you are out of luck

A little hole in the wall provider in eastern Iowa (West Liberty in particular) is *I think* the first provider in the nation to provide cable over IP.

All my "Grey Area" chums are whining about that now. They lost the porn first, then the PPV, then the high channels to the upgraded encryption.

Funny how the order works. ;)

Hasn't it been a major inconvenience for a couple years now? Like having to reprogram a couple times every day?

Livelinked serial port on a P166 can keep up with the changing encryption.

... Theoretically of course.

Free-to-air sucks (At least up here.)

Is there a listing of channels available?

Heh.

It just isn't worth it to me. I'll go ahead and toss away 1.5% of my monthly income for my satellite access simply because it isn't worth the hastle.

Yeah eh? :p

I have a feeling Nagra 2 is going to get cracked sometime soon though, its all about leaked info. If someone would know how it would work it would be pretty easy to get passed it
