Dell computers are so quiet sometimes I can't tell if it is on or off.

Dell computers are quiet, but is there any other computer companies that make computers quieter or equivalent to Dell PC's?

My next computer well be Dell.

Out of the box Dells are very quiet. However, as time (few weeks) goes by they get noisy...

Try www.silentpcreview.com . I think you'll find that there are some people who are as fanatical about "quiet" as overclockers are about speed.

And Dells vary a lot. Some are VERY quiet, some aren't. They spend a LOT of time trying to insure that they are this way--you'd probably HATE a lab full of loud computers. :)

I can beat as well as anyone else the quietness of the dell pcs. Super quiet panaflo/nmb fan(s), seagate hard drive, etc. If you want real performance, dell is not the way to go. Performance requires cooling and dell doesn't do that.

My computer is relatively quiet other than the PSU...Apparantly a TruePower isn't quiet enough.

I would go with Dell for the warranty and the guarantee of a working computer.

if you build your own system, geared towards silence, with an antec sonata case (i can only speak towards this case 'cause it's the one i'm using) it will be significantly quieter than a dell.

maybe their desktops are quiet but this Inspiron laptop that I have from them was a waste of money. The fan cycles on and off every 10 seconds. It is very annoying.

If I thought I could sell this piece of junk I would but I would probably get shot by the buyer.

Thats what the warranty is for???? use it, and quit crying.

I work for Dell, and we help people everyday with fan problems.

u can always turn even the loudest pc into a quiet one via sound dampening pads.
