Is There Anything More Lame than Putting up a Cell-Phone instead of a Lighter at a Concert?

Serious question....

Is there anything more lame than putting up a cell-phone instead of a lighter at a concert? I mean, putting up a light isn't exactly cool in my book either either, but it just seems the ultimate in "I'm a douchebag retarded millenial me-me-me-me!" is putting up something else instead. At least there is some history behind the lighter.

I get that lighter is more authentic than cold luminescence of LCD screens.

But smoking is like all-time low. Not many people will light up the crowd.
Inversely, smartphone usage is all-time high. Everyone will brighten spectacularly.

Yes, complaining about it on the internet is lamer :p

Don't forget he even ranted about Millennials. Bet he's even more laughable and likely is one himself.

I mean, fuck, he could've at least gotten some support by saying Android or Windows tablet, or shit even an iPad. Instead he just comes off like a crackhead pissed that he can't pickpocket lighters at a concert.

They should give away a lighter to each ticket holder at the gate. With the price of tickets anymore, buying the lighters in bulk can't be more than a dime a piece.

Concert fire slightly burns child, started with free lighter given with tickets. Lawsuit expected to be in the millions.

What do you have against matches?
Burns your fingers if you don't pay attention. Matches are kinda special though. They're neat things. Instant fire, without volatile fuels. That said, what I miss most about smoking, is having my zippo always available. Aside from lighting cigarettes, it makes a competent torch, with no danger of explosion.

Was watching a Monkeys concert on TV. First thought was, wow are they old now. Next thought was, lol at the backup singer holding the phone up to entice the crowd.

I don't buy that actually. Pot smoking has taken over, and no one cares where they do it.

I know that. So have some legally binding agreement on the ticket. Something like "the user of this ticket..."

...which some lawyer will use as proof that they understood the potential consequences and should be held liable for a preventable accident anyway.

Sorry. It isn’t happening.

Lighter?

You mean a hand held canister of compressed combustible gas with a built in ignition source and trigger?

That sounds dangerous.

Ehh, Anathema - Universal .... in some of the shots, they pan the camera towards the crowd and you just see an amazing sea of lights which more or less resemble stars. Until seeing that live album, I would have agreed that phones are lame, but, in that context, in that ancient roman theater, it gave me chills.
