I need a new mobo cuz my Epox is dying. After 6 months of smooth sailing it had pretty much no glitches until now, where out of the blue, it would hang at post. I've already tryed everything, and I really just wanna upgrade :)

I was planning on KT266A, but want something even better. Does KT333 offer anything other than DDR333 support? Also do you think i can use Crucial Micron PC2100 on it fine? Does the southbridge support USB2.0?

There's a lot of conflicting news about the KT333 chipset. However, it seems like the only new thing that it will bring to the table over the KT266A is DDR333 support. The KT333A is supposed to have a 533MB V-link.

Basically, there's almost nothing new. But I would definitely wait for the reviews to start pouring in.

Btw, JEDEC approved DDR333 RAM isn't selling right now, and won't be selling en masse for months to come (the current DDR333 modules out there aren't really DDR333 according to JEDEC).

If I were you, I'd just choose either a KT266A board, SiS735/745 board, or nForce 420-D/415-D board with the features you need from the mainboard maker you trust. Nothing new is really going to be coming out for the chipsets themselves soon, just support for features like ATA 133, USB 2.0, etc.

From what i read, looks like the RAM is Async. This is crap. A 266A would be faster by overclocking. What trash 333 is. I hope they release and Nfroce soon, but it doesn't seem to be taking off. Looks like the only different with KT333 is async RAM support.

I'm with AGodspeed. The KT266A is a proven chipset and even after several months it's running at the top of the heap with the Nforce boards. Given the price premium of the Nforce boards, you'll get better bang for your buck using a KT266A board. I've noticed that of all the VIA boards to date, the 266A chipset is definitely one of the most problem free.

the nforce has a few advantes over most 266A chipsets that i would gladly pay for. but still waiting for the perfect mobo. Looks like it may have to wait Nforce. I found the A7V333 has USB 2.0 support through teh southbridge. Hmmmm
