Is there anything cheaper then verizon?

Right now 2 lines with the cheapest family share plan on verizonwireless is, somehow, about 87 dollars a month. I pay 10 extra for text messaging and my dad paid 4 bucks for 411 connect. So the cheapest the plan could possibly be would be around 70 a month.

That sounds really high for 2 phones with the least possible minutes especially considering my service isnt even good where I live (new brunsiwck new jersey).

Is anyone reputable cheaper? I was thinking cingular or sprint...

I use like.. 50 minutes a month. I'm hardly ever actually on the phone, I just text all the time. My dad doesnt use the
phone very much either. Hell we'd probably be better off just buying the prepaid phones. The biggest problem is
that when I'm not at school for those 3 months I spend a crapload of minutes on the phone with my gf, which is currently
free because she has verizon also. Either I need her to switch to what i get or figure out a cheaper way to call long
distance (how is 70 miles long distance anyway..)

Actually I dont even text very much at school so I'm going to lower the txt plan to 5 bucks a month. Still, 82
is a bit high.

It looks like sprint and cingulars cheapest family plans are 10 bucks cheaper a month.. hmm

If you both use the phone that infrequently just get your own plans through a prepaid system and don't worry about the family thing. Virgin Mobile has a new thing that you can designate 3 specific phone numbers that you can call all the time for free (or soemthing like that I read about). But prepaid is the way to go if you don't use the phone much.

When they say unlimited night calling is that unlimited to any phone? We dont talk till like 11 at night so if
that is free unlimited then i have no reason to stay with verizon..

im sure tmobile is cheaper

also find out what carrier have has they might have free mobilel to mobile for an additional fee but you have to be in the same network

The $5 text plan gives you unlimited Verizon texting and 50 other network texts. That should be enough.

I'd get a pre-pay phone for your dad and get a Cingular phone for you. I had Cingular, and now I have Verizon, and I'm in Princeton Junction, 15 minutes away from you. Both services are comparable regarding reception, with Verizon having the slight edge, but Cingular is cheaper.
