The website has the tech support e-mail. Don't really expect an answer though. Many mainboard companies do not respond to questions.

Try shorting it, your board might work fine.. maybe it was redndant or for somethign stupid like monitoring fan RPM's or regulating LED power. Who needs all them stupid LED's!?!? DAMNIT!!!

From the looks of it in that pic, I think that it is a a cap, not a resistor.
Is it brown / tan in color?
They, cap or resistor, can be replaced if the correct value is known. Unfortunatly, caps are not marked with their value.
Do you have the old one?

The C106 denotes that it is a capacitor. 106 is not a value, it is a location.
The only way to find out the value of the cap is to test it.
Do you have the old one?

To measure that cap you need a 5V power supply, a few high-value resistors (1-MOhm to 22-MOhm or higher), and an oscilloscope or transient analyzer. You probably don't have that kind of stuff lying around if you don't know how to do it (thats a couple thousand bucks worth of equipment)... you could take it to an electronics shop but they will probably charge you $50 to fix it... The manufacturer might fix it or at least tell you the value but then you'd still have to have it fixed. Hate to sound discouraging but you'll probably end up junking it and buying a new one :(
