I have been trying to load Fedora C4 on to a dual opteron machine, the one below in my sig; but it stumbles on loading the SATA driver every time, with a message of something like:
"loading sata_nv"

And would be there for ages before I'm forced to reboot.
Does anyone else with NF4 have the same problem??

Anyone with any solutions out there?

Well, maybe RAID is enabled and you dont have an array.
The nvidia SATA controller is the SAME controller that control the cdrom. SATA is only an INTERFACE between an IDE hdd an an IDE controller. No drivers are needed, unless RAID is used. Check your BIOS and disable all RAID option you may find.

grooge,

Good thinking, I'll try that the first thing when I go home.

Try booting with pci=noacpi

Martin, thanks,

I already tried disabling acpi, but that did not seem to make any difference, since it's stuck on the same process.
