Is there anybody with problems with NIC in P4C800-E deluxe?

Hi to all
I've posted in the networking forum, but also in here 'cause i want to pose a question.
I've got serious problem with my 3COM cable modem and intel nic in my P4C800-E deluxe mb. I keep loosing my settings ( ip, dns, etc) with this mobo. Since i never had a problem with my A7V8X i wonder if some of you guys have heard about problems with Intel nic in this board. I have XP installed.

Hi there, and welcome to the forums!

Make sure you have the latest Intel network adapter drivers off the Asus website. Also, which bios on the motherboard are you using? There were some fixes regarding the built-in nic on bios 1014. Good luck.

I've installed the latest inf. driver from intel and my biose is the late one from Asus web site, still, i got the same problem
Is it possible that the mobo is defective, or is just plain bad luck that my modem doesen't
like intel nicks?
Are there any beta bioses available?
any ideas would be apreciatted

The Intel NIC on my P4C800-E Dlx has been flawless running through an SMC Router to a Motorola SB5100 cable modem.
