Gov subsidised is usually bease on income. The gov actually sends $$$ to the landloard (ex Sectino 8)

The rent controlled may be that the owner/developer originally got a tax break in exchange for a promise to keep the rents at a reasonable level.

You're moving in with a guy you've known for what, 2 months?

He's my fiance, and it's been longer than that.

By a month, HUGE difference.....LMAO

Congrats gourmettea! :) How long have you been married/engaged?

SethK28, statistically in America EVERY marriage is doomed. But thanks for the luck, I guess we could use it as much as anyone else.

My issue is with notfred's need to make comments about people's living arrangments when he lives with The_good_guy.

He's a poor Ph.D. student at the moment. I'm a poor recent grad, but we're both supporting each other and there are no financial interests at all involved in the relationship.

I love him, and it's sad some of you react the way you do. Guess it's not my place to "prove" anything though, we know what we have and that's all that matters.

gourmettea, we won't be getting married until he graduates, which could be 1-3 more years. I don't want a big wedding... right now, not even sure if we'll have a huge formal one. It might be easier to elope given the consequences, but we probably will end up having one, even if it's only to allow J. to give his speech. :p
