Is there any way to resurrect a stock AMD HS fan?

I just built my very first system.

Epox 8KHA, 768 megs of crucial pc2100, 40 gig IBM 60GXP, 1ghz thunderbird, you get the idea. That's not important.

When I first had my vid card, ram, and proc in the mobo, and the motherboard mounted in the case, I tried turning the computer on. Everything hummed to life beautifully. Except my heatsink fan.

I tried the fan in another fan header, but got the same response. The fan twitched a little, but never started spinning. I guess this is what I get for buying a retail thunderbird.

Does anyone know of any obvious things that I might be able to do to fix the fan? I don't wanna have to wait a few days just to buy a new stinking fan for my heatsink... :)

Spin it by hand, does it spin freely?

Take it off the heatsink, and peel back the sticker. Put a drop of oil in the hole, and spin it some more. Then, stick the sticker back on and put the fan back on the heatsink.

Heh. I took the sticker off the top, and the bottom.

All I've got now is a broken fan without any labels on it, with no places I can see to put oil into it.

Thank TunaBoo :p
