Is there any way to keep RAID controllers from redetecting drives?

If I have my RAID drives defined in the controller BIOS and are seen in the motherboard bios as one drive can I keep the controller from auto seeking out new drives at boot? It really adds a lot of boot time to have this enabled.

Might help to know what hardware/firmware you are using.

I see the same, detecting, pause for ctrl F, at each boot on my system, so waiting to see what answers you get. My raid is from AMD 760G motherboard chip set, SB710 I think, on a Biostar motherboard.
