Is there any way to have a VNC or Remote Desktop like way to access Windows Mobile over GPRS?

I can connect to my LG Incite which has Windows Mobile 6.1 using PocketVNC over my home WiFi connection. If I try to use PocketVNC over GPRS it identifies the IP address and I can ping it, but cannot access the phone. I understand there are probably security reasons why GPRS may block a port or not support a protocol, but is it still possible to remote to a phone from a desktop?

Is the VNC app on the phone acting as a VNC server?

I expect you have a firewall on the phone blocking the incoming traffic. As with all good firewalls traffic initiated outside the FW is rejected by default. I don't know anything about WM firewalling.
