Is there any way to get your gums to grow?

I have large teeth. A result of that was severe overcrowding and crooked teeth. I had braces on for 30 months (!) to correct them, now they are more pleasant. However, after they untangled the mess of my teeth, there are lots of gaps left between teeth where gums never really grew (because the gaps didn't exist until recent time).

End result is that I have straight teeth but (IMO) they look horrible with a few major holes (3 or 4 of them).

I asked the orthadontist but he seemed evasive on how I could fix it and didn't seem to ever deal with that.

Has anyone had this problem? Can it be fixed (preferably natural gums--I don't want some fake pink plastic between them 😛)

i dunno...from my experience your gums arent' supposed to get big..i.e. that's what happens when you don't brush.

Well along the bottom of the teeth there would be enough room to put a pencil between. I think that constitutes a problem 🙁

I know what inflamed gums look like, but I just mean filled in gums like /\ that sort of shape between the teeth.

Come to think of it, gums shouldn't grow the complete height of the gap but it should come up a little bit more nonetheless

sounds like your ortho f'd-up. Get those new clear braces, you might have to have your teeth moved back together, transffering the space to the back teeth. I think your ortho is responsible for you until you are satisfied with the results.

your teeth don't look that bad. I was picturing big gaps. I don't know, get an Oral-B and use Listerine?

Whoa! That's not quite sticking a pencil through. Maybe a pencil tip. I had imagined something far worse! I don't think it's too bad, could definitely be alot worse..
