Is there any way to do this?

Is there any way to make it so that my PS3 does not scale the image up from 720p on my 1440x900 monitor? It looks like poo in that non-native resolution and I was wondering if there was a way to make it just use black bars with the image in the center.

Just a stab in the dark, but wouldn't it be your monitor rescaling instead of the PS3? The PS3 doesn't know what resolution your monitor is.

I guess so; yeah. My monitor doesn't have any way to rescale in the menu, so am I out of luck?

I'm assuming it's a computer monitor? Yeah, so that means no remote than eh?
Sadly, computer monitors end up requiring software drivers to handle turning monitor upscaling on/off, except some do have the controls built into the menu.

There seems to be a lot if issues with this monitor. No 1:1 mode, bad EDID info, RTS causing ghosting. You might be out of luck.
