I bought some nice 2-wire bare lead 80mm panaflo's for cases but I'm eyeing this Thermalright SK-7 hs and I'd like to use a panaflo on it.
Oh, hell. I'll probably just get a Zalman ZM-F1 80mm fan. Those Panaflo's are only useful for case fans w/o speed monitoring.

I have Panaflo L1A/Alpha 8045 at work on an A7N8X-Deluxe, and the Panaflo L1A/SK-7 at home on an A7N266-VM. They seem happy enough as-is, so I haven't bothered to do anything out of the ordinary, except I enabled Q-Fan on the A7N8X-Deluxe (it lowers the voltage to the CPU fan header if the CPU temp is below a certain threshold).

From what I hear you would probably be happier with the Panaflo. If you have a mobo that requires a fan to start normally you should be able to disable that setting. RPM monitoring isn't necessary. If you are worried about the fan dying or anything run a temperature program like Motherboard Monitor 5 to watch your temperatures.
