Is there any way i can have a program that will toggle my microphone's volume ON and OFF?

I have a gooseneck mic and it doesn't have a on/off switch on it, so i was wondering is there a program that i can possibly put in my taskbar and click it once to turn the mic on and once again to turn it off?

go to contol panel->multimedia
at the bottom of the audio tab there is a check box to keep the volume control in the taskbar

but that takes 2 steps to turn it on/off

Double click volume-control and then click it to mute or unmute. If it isn't showing up goto Properties and tick the box so it will.
