Is there any way for a normal person to meet the Queen of England?

I just wonder if it's possible to actually meet important people.

What about if you wanted to meet the Prime Minister of Canada or the President of the United States.

I know obviously you can't just stroll into the Oval Office and say how's it going, but you should be entitled to meet these people through some formal process.

While that sounds nice in concept the President could meet people 24/7 & probably still not keep up with demand.

There is simply no way for a leader of 250+ million people to be accessible to anyone who wants to see him.

Not to mention the security nightmare...

I have met Reagan (several times), Bush I, & Clinton. It was fairly easy. It would be almost impossible to meet W.

The Queen of England? I'd guess it's not that hard but I'm not sure.

What did you have to do to meet these people?

If you agree to read the script given to you by Whitehouse PR and never say anything negative about W for the rest of your life maybe they'll let you in a "town hall".

I just met (retired) Lieutenant General Romeo Dallaire a couple of days ago! Not very many people seem to know him, but I was ecstatic to meet him, and get 5-6 minutes to talk to him.
And of course, I asked him to sign my copy of his book "Shake hands with the devil"

My Uncle is a sales exec and he lived in England for 2 years in the early 90's. His company did huge large scale software systems for hospitals. He got to shake Princess Di's hand at an opening of one or something.

For many years I was a competitive athlete; one of my best friends & teammates went on to work with the Secret Service. Through training & competition, I became associated with Gold's Gym Corporate. Long story short.... I arranged for all Secret Service agents working Presidential Protection (and thus traveling frequently), to be able to train free at any Gold's Gym in the world (there were approx 520 gyms at that time). To return the favor, my friend called me and let me know that if I ever wanted to met the President, let him know and he'd handle it. True to his word... he handled it.:)

Edit: The favor expired when Clinton left office.:)

No, you know how those Brits are. Only bucktoothed psychopaths are allowed to meet her majesty.

I met and spoke with Bush Sr once; after his presidency. Conversation of about 2 minutes. I wish I could say we spoke of something intelligent, but we didn't. Or at least I did not.
