Is there any service or way to ship a car + belongings if you are moving cross-state?

Say you want to bring your car and a few belongings (not much). Is there an alternative to driving there yourself? I'm thinking maybe some sort of carrier that can ship your car + belongings (from to the west to the east coast).

Yes, but I don't know any names off hand.

It's fairly expensive, though. I know that to ship a motorcycle cross country costs upwards of $600.

Edit: I believe there are also services that will drive your car cross-state for you.

Yep it gets costly. This is why a lot of people decide to sell off big things and start anew.

Yea, just load the dammed thing into the moving truck (I saw it today while I was delivering pizza - an older corvette was strapped down in the back of an extremly large moving truck)

Funny this should come up, at the end of this summer I need to ship a car from San Jose, CA to Chicago, IL. I thought i read somewhere that dealerships would help you with this, as they ship cars all over the country. Maybe i'll just drive the damn thing there.
