Is there any reason why I shouldn't get an Audigy2?

I was considering buying an Audigy 2 w/ the bay to connect some of the devices without having to reach to the back of my PC. Is there any reason why I should't do this? I already have a regular Audigy sound card. Using this on Windows XP.

Yes. There is a reason: you already have an audigy. You can save yourself a lot of $ by just getting the audigy drive for your existing card. You can get just the "front ports" in the form of the audigy drive directly from creative's site and then just hook it up to the audigy that you already own rather than senselessly replacing your existing soundcard. The audigy 2 isn't THAT much better.

Why would anybody in their right mind pay $150 to add the Audigy drive to their sound card when they can pick up an Audigy 2 Platinum for less than $200 ?
