is there any reason to worry about a child having nosebleeds?

my daughter was getting several a week. we took her to the doctor and she had a sore inside that wasn't healing properly. they gave us some anti-bacterial cream to put on it and it went away. no more nose bleeds

When I go to my parent's house, I get terrible allergies. Irritates my nose. I get nose bleeds easily.

When I lived there, I had all these prescription drugs and crap to suppress the symptoms (not very well..). But these days I take nothing because where I live now I don't have any allergies.

I got them a lot when i was a kid almost every day. On one dr visit my mom told our doc and he squirted some kind of powder up my nose. that helped for a while but they came back. My son who is 6 gets them now and im not to concerned about it. he knows how to take care of it.

Why is it our kids always do stuff like this on a Saturday night when our only option is the ER? Argh.

If he gets another one, you could see if you have one of those dial-a-nurse services available so you have someone to ask questions until you can get him seen by a doctor.

I got them untill 7th grade, then they stopped. Maybe only once or twice a month, but many things can cause a nosebleed. i would not worry untill he gets them everyday for 4+ days.

I am 25 years old now, and I still get them occasionally. It is usually now from dry air. However, when i was a kid i got them all the time, and in spurts....i could go 2 months not having one, and then i would have one every day for a week. i went to one of the eye ear nose and throat specialists and had my nose cauterized at least 4 times, and it would work for awhile, but then start in again. they dont really come from picking the nose, or at least mine didn't. they could just randomy start while talking, or unfortunately, sleeping....its an inconvenience, but it really isn't a big deal, unless you are a hemopheliac
