Is there ANY reason I should not buy this laptop?

Yeah I know it weighs a ton, but I knew it wasnt an ultra-portable. This lappy gets the nod over most 17 inchers because of the numberpad.

WHOOPS, I though that was a small laptop! I should read and not just look at pics.

Intel's Info Page on Mobile P4

Basically its a 533MHz FSB P4 that supports SpeedStep so it can underclock itself to save battery. It is still a woefully power inefficient CPU and is less powerful than competing Pentium M or Athlon 64 notebooks, and even the A64 gets better battery life.

Woe to those who use Pentium 4 notebooks. Well, you won't have to buy a heater. ;)
I'd still suggest going A64 or Pentium M.
Pentium 4 in a notebook = No-No.

The Pentium-4M saves power compared to a desktop P4 only when it's idle. When busy it is almost the same.

The Pentium-M saves power in both situations.

Could you get a Delll lappie with 6800 for almost the same price or less? I remember they had special going on a while back.

Like the other posters said, look at the 9300.

P4 M is a battery-hog. If you plan on working frequently without AC power, definately go for a Pentium M.

Uhm, I got a 9300 loaded for the same price. I would check out Dell's site and look for a 35% coupon useable in Home for Dell at Notebook forums. This will allow you to get an AWESOME notebook for cheap...
