is there any proof that Verizon does indeed have the best coverage?

I'm sick of their stupid commercial which names all the landmarks of US, (DC metro, Logan Airport, the whole 6-0-5)

Their commercial always raves about having the best reception out of other providers. Is this true?

Consumer reports did a nationwide, uh, report.

Verizon ranked highest in all markets (by a WIDE margin) for customer service and reception, as well as overall satisfaction.

You ever thought that it might be her phone? You are aware that Verizon will use Sprint's towers as secondary in-network roaming (automatically and at no charge) so there's a good chance that either her plan isn't covering that area or her phone is just FUBAR.

all providers have spotty areas.
i liked verizon service and monthly rate, but the cingular network had the best reception for the areas i frequent.

Yes, actually the tried to blame it on the phone, and we got her a new one. Yet, low and behold, it does the same damn thing. And I live in Austin, TX, where they claim city-wide coverage. (And no, I'm not talking about super-urban locations where signals are impossible to pass through). I dont know, I've askd around other V users, and most of them have the same feeling. At least down here, I think Sprint pwns.

Of course in every market the best carrier is going to differ. In your area sprint might have more towers and better coverage. Across the US, Verizon has better coverage overall. You're an idiot if you think that Sprint is better overall just because they have more coverage in your area.
