Is there any program out there that reads text?

For example, say I have a .pdf and I want the program to read all the text (or just copy paste the text from the pdf to notepad/word ), is there a program that can read the text for me?

By the way, I just found out about the "read" tool in Adobe Reader. Well, now I'm looking for a program that doesn't read it in that boring/generic way.

I don't think you will find anything.

You are asking the computer to analyze the words and have a personality and inflection. I don't think that exists for the general consumer.

A lot of the text to speach engines are pretty good now. They still sound computer-ish, but they aren't so bad anymore.
