Is there any new rap I should be paying attention to these days?

Hi all.

Of course I hear the stuff the radio stations play so there's no need to repeat those names but I've lost touch with the less packaged hip hop since moving to Oklahoma...I'm curious as to what the new names are in the rap world these days.

outkast

seconded.

the new album "speakerboxxx & the love below" (or whatever it's called) is excellent

That's about the only new album worth listening to. Heard The Roots were gonna come out with something new, dunno when exactly.

That song which plays during the "The Girl Next Door" trailer. Specifically, the part when the pop the porno into the VCR. Pay very close attention to that, and try to figure out what they're saying. I sure as hell can't, but would love to know.

Oh, and also Outkast.

roots, talib kweli, mos def, and common are all releasing albums this year. should be good stuff. also, in the mainstream vein, kayne west is quickly developing a good street buzz, and his highly anticipated album 'college dropout' comes on feb. 10th. it will also have guest vocals from kweli, def, odb, twista and jay-z.

I wouldn't call him 'new' but if you haven't been listening to Aesop Rock, now is a good time to start.
Aesop Rock is one of those that I'll catch here and there but it's impossible to find albums for 🙁
