Is there any music out there like John Frusciante?

If I use the iTune "Genius" or look for similar items in Amazon it gives me shit like RHCP and Iggy Pop. They may be closely related bands but the music is absolutely nothing alike. So anyone know of some alt-rock similar to John Frusciante? Particularly the albums Shadows Collide with People and To Record Only Water for Ten Days. Definitely not like the album Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt (awful).

Frusciante works a lot with Omar Rodriguz-Lopez, who basically shits out a new album full of noodling every two weeks. John is on a lot of those recordings so you might check there first. ORL is one half of The Mars Volta

So I checked out 3 Omar Rodriguz-Lopez albums and man.... that is some awful, awful music. Some of the worst I have ever heard. I mean, it mostly doesn't even qualify as music, it's just... noise. Wow. Why would you recommend this to someone who likes albums like To Record Only Water for Ten Days, some of the most soulful music in the genre? Wow. Worst. Recommendation. Ever.

However I did check out The Mars Volta while I was at it, some of that is above average.

Did you check out any of the ones with Frusciante or just ORL? ORL puts out tons of albums, not all of them are good. If you didn't like the ones with the artist you asked for recommendations on, I don't know what to tell you.

this is why 2000 frusciante > 2010 frusciante

not the same guitarist at all.
