Don't forget Kangaroo, Emu & Crocodile.

Haven't had Koala yet. Will have to try Snake and Wichetty grub.

I'd have to put pork up there with beef. Bacon, Sausage, pulled BBQ pork, BBQ ribs, pork tenderlion. How could those be at the bottom?

The problem is most rabbits frozen when ya get it. Ya gotta kill it yourself to make sure its fresh.

You can always find pet rabbits for free on craiglist.

Elk > any other kind of meat...

If I could keep my freezer full of elk, I'd probably never eat beef again. I don't know if I'd walk across the road for venison, but elk...mmmmmm, don't get in between me and an elk steak or roast...

I agree, rabbit is very tasty. Chicken is just so much more abundant and convenient.

My fav meat is venison by a long shot though...

Yeah, Kangaroo is susceptaple to fluke, but it concentrates in the liver, if the liver is free of parasites so is the meat. Like every thing else, if you buy from reputable sources you've got no worries.

The other problem with roo is that because it has very very little fat, if you stuff up the cooking it becomes very tough, do it right and it is excellent.

My brother-in-law is aboriginal and makes a mean Roo Stew.

Goose is kick butt. All dark meat.

It seems that the majority of people around here who raise animals *hate* goose meat. Last time I was at a farmer auction, everything was going for a reasonable price, except geese. They almost had to just give them away. 16 adult geese = 25 cents each. AND, everyone was laughing at the sucker who paid the 4 dollars. There are a lot of butchers who go to that auction, and a lot more people who butcher their own meat.

Well, the meat people actually prefer the white rabbits (with the pink eyes) over the other colors of rabbits. I personally find the white ones to be ugly/too ordinary.
