Is there any guide to set up my PC as a media center?

I have a desktop PC that I would like to use as a media center -- I would like to run my TV through it, do digitally record stuff and play DVDs and MP3s on it. Are there any easy to understand guides on what is necessary to make this conversion?

The PC in question is an AMD 2800+ with 1GB RAM a GeForce4 4800Ti (that I will be changing soon to something else so recommendations are helpful). Also, if it is feasible, I would like to play some games on it as well (output to the TV) so some hints on that would help as well.

Thanks tons

You'll need a video card that not only can handle video out, but video in and well. Most of the time it's called VIVO. The ATI Radeon AIW cards are great if you want to record cable. I'd get something like an X800 AIW.
