I've been going through about a about a liter of pop a day lately. Is there any documentend side-effect from consuming soda pop excessively that is specific to acidified carbonated beverage?

Not sure about side effects of carbonated beverages, but I know there's side effects from having too much caffeine.

The acid in colored soda will slowly eat away at the enamel of your teeth.

Well other than the fact that the excess caffeine is dehydrating you, not really I guess. What's wrong with water?

Caffeine is addicting. My friend went through about that much coke every day back in high school. Once summer vacation started he didn't have the soda machine to buy from every day and he had headaches and his hands shook for about 2 weeks
