Is there any difference between 8MB and 32MB CACHE for HDDs?

Hey, title says it all...

Is there a big enough boost in performance between a 8MB cache HDD and a 32MB cache one?

Mostly for playing games, movies and AutoCAD.

It's not simply a question of pure cache size, but platter density also.
An 8MB cache HD will have lower platter density than a newer 32MB cache HD.

As an example, I have a WD Green 1.5tb (5400rpm, 32mb), and it is twice as fast in nearly all metrics as an older 300gb 8mb 7200rpm drive.
