is there any benefit from using a monitor fan?

I read somewhere a long time ago about a person who was having problems with his monitor. He added a fan to it, and it stopped misbehaving.

In general, I would say that a fan on the monitor is not needed. If you are having problems with it, then it may (or may not) help.

Probably not, especially if you put it on the wrong way. NEVER make it blow downward. Heat rises, so all you're doing is pushing hot air back in.
