Is there any alternative to a $20 a month phone line?

I'm spending $20 a month on a very basic phone line that I probably use only once a month for the odd fax or 1800 number. Are there any cheaper alternatives to this?

I think the only option is to use your cell and use internet faxing software such as efax

or vonage or sunrocket if you still want a "regular" phone line. Think you can get it down to 10 or 15$ a month

If you are living off govt aid (such as student loans, welfare) you can get a "lifeline" for ~$5. Just ask your phone service about it. If you are not living with out govt help, I really doubt you can get it.
