Is there any advantage to using 8KB clusters on newer Sandforce SSDs?

I'm thinking now that some drives are internally using 8KB rather than 4KB clusters, is it better to tell windows to format the partition with an 8KB rather than 4KB cluster size? By default Windows 7 creates partitions 1MB aligned so that works out either way, but is there a performance advantage if 8KB clusters are used?

It would be cool if the SSD bench would add 8KB random reads & writes in addition to 4KB.

That's a good question. I would think that if it were the case it would have already been discovered. Perhaps you're onto something, though.
