Is there an x11 window manager for MS Windows?

I want to to remotly access linux server, that would be on my lan from my wireless laptop. VNC is WAY to slow it there an app for XP that would alow me to use my linux box as an x11 server?

cygwin has X server (IIRC), another X server for Windows is X-Win32 (not free but has evaluation version); not sure if these will be faster than VNC

Edit: the XP program that you need is a X server, the terminology is somehow confusing, for more details see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_server

I use Cygwin/X and lauch apps from my desktop when I'm at work. Just make sure to tunnel it over ssh or you might as well post your root password on a public wesite.

I'm just amazed that a server would run X.

I don't understand why you would need X. SSH should be able to perform all the maintanance required. I don't run a GUI on my servers to save resources.

hey do you guys know how to setup linux so multiple people can vnc/remote desktop into it ? just asking.. i never did it but would like to learn
