Is there a extension similar to the magic wand in Opera for Firefox? I tried the mozilla extensions site and mozilla zine plus the almighty google with no luck?

Or maybe is there a way to force firefox to store a password for certain sites (blackboard for one)?

I prefer Opera over firefox but the adblock feature is the killer and the adblock programs for Opera aren't as comprehensive.

It doesnt work 1.5 and has been updated in a year so thats no help, it is a minor thing but the magic wand fills in the user and pass and hits logon automatically like magic!

As for the adblock thing its true, I have only found 4 different ones, tested two. One requires right clicking an image than copy and pasting to an external program, the other requries right clicking and then adding as a filter but doesnt seem to block anything besides images and flash (no inline frames or scripts). As I said I prefer Opera to Firefox but I dont like being bombarded with ads so I use firefox even if it is slow and probelmatic.

Proxomitron :)

And you get to keep Opera.

Memory footprint is about 6MB. Works great. :)

I've also tried the Nontroppo AdBlock, while it worked great, it was a pain in the ass to get the filters set up. So much so that I don't use it anymore. Lack of wildcards was a real downer.

Proxomitron is just click and go. No difference in speed as far as I can tell. :)

Yeah thats one of the ones I used cpp_adblock, im trying to find a filter list for it but no luck. It says it does support wildcards but does it on a selective basis.

They didn't have wildcards when I used it. Version 0.4 or something. I still wouldn't recommend it. Too much manual file editing.

Proxomitron still gets my vote.

Just to let you guys know, the latest version of Adblock_Cpp, which can be found here is pretty decent, if you use it with this list of filters you should have something similar to adblock in FF. If you enable overlay you can block out everything you need to using the substring option. It is an inconvenience to install at first but at least you can use Opera without billions of ads and no external blocking programs.
