Is there an instant messaging service that allows you to send messages between different services?

I think I read that there is some company that offers software to do this.

Otherwise, can you use email to send a message to an ICQ or other instant messaging service?

See ya.

The closest thing I know of is Trillian. Doesn't allow you to cross message but allows you combine the IMs.

I'll give another vote for Trillian(as my gf is saying next to me, pluggin it). I've just about tossed AIM/ICQ/Y!/MSN I only use AIM to send files(the one feature I wish Trillian had, it will in the next release). However, it does let you use IRC/AIM/ICQ/Y!/MSN and you can log into the same service with multiple names if you want. I.E. if you had a name for work contacts and friends you could use both at the same time. It's skinnable...which is cool.

Try it out

also, there's Odigo(Possibly? and I know there are others but I can't remember any others.

Does anyone know if you can cross-message with any instant messaging service or send a message to an instant messaging service via email or the internet?
