Ok, is there anyway to get an iPhone or blackberry curve/bold WITHOUT paying a data plan? some girl was telling me she bought hers on ebay and doesnt have to pay the data plan because she got it that way.

Also, is there anyway to compare plans between verizon/sprint/att? We are currently att, but i think we want to switch because right now we aren't getting a good deal, and the customer service at ATT has been pretty bad for us. We want a family plan with about 2000 minutes, what is the cheapest place for this?

Throw in any other information you may have, and thanks a LOT in advance!

Sprint is going to be your cheapest. I have to ask why do you want a smartphone but not a data plan. Its like buying a car but not wanting to pay for gas, it just doesn't make sense. The only way I can think of to use an iphone without data is buying one and putting it on T-Mobile, on ATT you are going to have a data plan.

If you buy the phone off say ebay or somewhere else you don't have to use the date plan cus they don't know what phone you have. If you get it when you sign up for a contract and get the lower cost on it, you have to get the data plans. It's written in the contract.

You need to tell that to T-Mobile. Every time that I call them with my iPhone they say, "I see that you are using an iPhone with this account, how is that working out for you?" :)

They can tell by the IMEI number on the phone.

Ahh well that sucks. I'm on Tmobile and using a Nokia E51 with no data plan and have used various other unlocked phones as well.
