Try land and hope----and the right to return that still drives this conflict. And all the revisionist history in the world will not change the facts---only if both sides get hope for the future will their be any hope for peace. Any seeming hope of Israeli moderation died when Rabin was assassinated by one of his own. Granted the Palestinians are ill led---but so are the Israelites.

You Israeli jerks need to realize that making Palestinians third class citizens in the land of their birth will not cut it in a modern world. In terms of Palestinians, until they get some hope for the future, Israel will reap what it sows.----just don't expect me to continue to prop you jerks up with my taxpayer money if you have zero empathy to your fellow man.

Israel gave up some land in the Gaza as part of an escalating peace deal. That land was used to launch attacks. Than Palestine votes (a democratic, fair, internationally observered election) in a government that had vowed to destroy Israel. They want war they got it. You fail to see that the Arabs have been the aggressors in this conflict. Israel took the land in a war the Arabs started. Israel did not just up and decide to attack the Palestinians in order for power at home. Palestinian sympathizers always cry that Israel is too harsh. Take for example the wall. It was built and was called an atrocity, that it would divide the area even more. Israel said it was to stop suicide bombings, and low and behold it more or less did. I'm sorry, but until the Palestinian people own up to there mistakes of being the aggressors in a war they cannot win they will deserver whatever comes there way.

If you want, I can give you many more reasons why the Palestinians are in the position they are today. It boils down to the fact they have made it there life goal to destroy Israel, and Israel is strong enough to defy that.

You mean the land that Isreal literally ISOLATED for six months so nothing entered the territories through land or sea? We talk as if disengagement means they simply left the Palestinians completely alone. Yeah right - when you still have Isreali warplanes harrassing the population by flowing low over them daily, when you have a complete HALT of the economy by a refusal to allow anything to enter the Gaza strip, people are going to be unruly. Imagine if you couldn't leave a part of your house, nor have anything delivered to it at all, and have neighbors PURPOSELY trying to harrass you with loud music RIGHT next door.
it sounds like they put on a PR move and quietly fvcked up things so they could say "SEEE LOOK WHAT THEY DID"

Palestinians are no saints and they have made many mistakes, but to act as if Israel is honorably defending itself is a ridiculous notion as well.

If anything - and REALISTICALLY - Israel is scared of any actual peace movement with the Palestinians. Israel is scared of any actual mobilization of its economy, Israel is scared of people NOT hating the state...because then they will be building their own lives and making demands. and Israel cannot freely land grab. So as long as the Palestinians are left in the shitter - any action Israel does is okay. Any land it takes or builds on is not an issue. But IF the area flourishes, well the land they can easily grab becomes limited.

But so as long as the Palestinians are in a state such as now, anything goes. And the sad part is the Palestinians are too stupid to realize it, and the organizations - whether they be fatah or hamas - are too greedy for their own power to simply understand that Israel isn't interested in peace- but it is interested in the destruction of as much infrastructure and the economy in order to justify their actions.
Besides - its easier to dehumanize those who blow themselves up so as long as they are willing to blow themselves up.

so is this entirely israel's fault? No. IS this all the palestinans fault? No? Are the Palestinians stupid for completely falling into the same damn trap and tactics used for the past fifty years? Yes. Did they even shoot their foot outside of that many times? Hell yes.

But the reality is simple: if the Palestinians lay down their arms - then Israel cannot pull ****** like build a wall...and take more land; and thus the Israeli government will never be interested in the laying down of Palestinian arms

You're right magomago: a little bit of land is worth all the money spent on security and military action.

Israel just couldn't bear to see any progress done, and that's why they built the wall. After the wall was built, the rockets started to fly, and the suicide bombers started to strike.

Why don't you tell us your version of what was going on circa 1995/6, when we were all being fooled into believing that Israel wanted peace?
